Jan Lindsey has been a Web and newspaper journalist for more than 20 years. She is a personal finance expert with extensive experience as an editor and writer.

As an assistant managing editor for Bankrate.com, she developed and launched a small business finance channel; coached, supervised and edited staff and freelance writers; developed and directed content plans; worked with designers; and managed processes.

She has also served as the internet content manager responsible for the body and tax content supporting an

e-commerce site.

Her writing and editing work has ranged across a broad spectrum, covering everything from hostage takings and police shootings to finding a small business loan and laddering certificates of deposit.

Lindsey has owned her own business, including Web content consulting and a contract writing and editing for newspapers, Web sites and a print B2B human resources newsletter.

Born in Connecticut, she has lived in Florida for almost 30 years.
